Ms. Barishma Saud Acharya is a seasoned leader in Nepal's insurance sector, currently serving as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Company Secretary at Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance Company Ltd. (SALICO). With over 24 years of experience, she has significantly contributed to the growth and governance of the company, especially following its formation in March 2023 through the merger of Sagarmatha Insurance Company Ltd. and Lumbini General Insurance Company Ltd.

Prior to her role at SALICO, Ms. Acharya was the Deputy CEO of Lumbini General Insurance, where she played a pivotal role in the company's operations and strategic direction. Before that, she served as the Deputy General Manager at Shikhar Insurance Co. Ltd., further solidifying her expertise in the Nepali insurance industry.

At SALICO, Ms. Acharya is instrumental in handling operations overseeing corporate governance, compliance, and strategic initiatives, ensuring the company's alignment with strategic vision and its commitment to sustainable growth in Nepal's evolving insurance landscape. 

Ms. Acharya holds an MBA from Kathmandu University and Bachelor's degree in Economics with English (Honours), reflecting her strong academic foundation and commitment to professional excellence. She has participated in various training programs and seminars on insurance, both locally and internationally. Notably, the aviation and reinsurance trainings conducted by Marsh, London in UK, Swiss Re, Zurich in Switzerland, and reinsurance training conducted by GIC Re, Mumbai in India played a significant role in shaping her career.

In addition to her professional career, Ms. Acharya serves as an executive member of the European Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the ad-hoc committee of the Nepal Tennis Association, Bagmati Province.
